A few years ago, I had the fantastic opportunity of exhibiting some of my work in Schloss Blumenthal, near Aichach in Bavaria.
Now a community-run complex including a luxury hotel, a beergarden, corporate facilities and an organic farm, the building has got a very rich history.
The place was mentioned as far back as the late 13th century and, over the years, was used as the dwellings of a commander of the Teutonic order, the property of the pope's underwriter's family, a luxury nursing home and, in 2007, it was taken over by private investors who restored it and turned the place into what it is now.
