Over a past few weeks, the news have been inundating us with speeches reminding people that "Christmas would be different this year". Lockdown, tier system, protection of vulnerable people won't allow the usual gatherings. In a nutshell, we'll be spending Chrismas in your bubbles. Hence, the title "In your Bauble".
This is what inspired me for this month's online exhibition. Having previously worked on digital images created from Christmas decorations, I thought I would revisit the process and add more creations to the collection. I started by taking close-up photos of christmas baubles as well as other things that I judged interesting. Then, digital manipulation lead to the final pieces.
Each image is meant to have a different feel, open to interpretation, it is not only one type of person who will remain inside their bubble (or bauble...) this year, but all of us, and we'll all be living the experience differently.
Here are a couple of old and new images, but I'll invite you to look at the pieces on the home page. Should you wish to have a look at the full piece, just click on the image, and it will open.
If you have any question, please drop me a line. Meanwhile, I'll wish you all a fantastic Christmas Season in and out of your bauble.
