From pots to spotlights

Spode was one of the many ceramic factories in the once thriving city of Stoke-on-Trent.
It employed a huge number of people between 1776 and 2008, when it was forced to close.
Some years later, a regeneration project breathed a new life into the place, and more activity could be seen. It now hosts artists studios, a café, a hotel and is also used as a venue for many events such as the BCB (British Ceramics Biennial) exhibition, theatrical performances, arts and crafts market as well as something that must have made the old walls shake with excitement : dance nights which attract a lot of young people until the early hours.
